From the start of the Syrian conflict, Turkey has admitted a large number of refugees. By March 2016, nearly a million people had crossed the Aegean Sea in eighteen months to reach the Turkish coast and Europe. The EU-Turkey agreement drastically reduced this activity. Turkey therefore assumed the paradoxical dual role of refuge and border area. The reporters will have a look at this paradox and, as in their previous project, will propose an analysis at two levels.
