Back in 2016, at the news of 75 Syrian women, sex trafficked and held captive in a brothel in Jounieh for years, the country was shock, but what happened next? According to different actors not much: a general lack of trust in the system, fear of retaliation from traffickers and lack of trainings among policemen and social workers are still among the factor preventing women to seek for help. In fact, most of them end up in prison, arrested as prostitutes - without being identified as victims of trafficking.
