According to the IOM, more than 80% of Nigerian girls who arrive in Italy risk becoming victims of trade. Near Catania, one of the main ports for the migrant arrivals, three barefoot Franciscan nuns regularly meet a group of 50 Nigerian prostitutes. Alessandro Puglia would like to focus on one of these girls’ stories while following the nuns’ advice. Why are these weak girls completely abandoned by humanitarian associations and only three barefoot Franciscan nuns are taking care of them?
